It seems that gangs of Canary Yellow motorcycle gangs have infested Darwin, wreaking havoc on the population and traffic flow.
Ok 3 out of 4 are Canary Yellow. Well at least they don't have to battle the rain.
As far as rain it's been beautiful these past few weeks, it certainly doesn't seem like a wet season. Sure it's humid but I'll take humid over bloody damp.
Not much happening other than we've taken to drinking McD's Frappé they are like a chocolate coffee drink with whipped cream and chocolate sauce poured on it. At $4.75 it's a little steep but we really don't eat out much here so it's a treat we can afford, maybe not around the waist, a couple of times a week.
Our tadpoles population is thinning out as they hop off to a better life. Our guppie population is increasing we managed to separate 5 babies 3 weeks ago in to a different water pot and they are growing nice and the guppies in the main water pot had babies and they didn't manage to eat them all. I think it's because we have some of the "fire work plants" in there. It allows the babies to hide a bit better. Overall I think we have about 7 survivors that we can count. I have been sneaking a few tadpoles into that pot as well as the plant has some green algae on it. I'm hoping the tadpoles will eat it. In that pot they seem to grow very fast as they don't have as much competition.
The definition of a Frappé:
A decadent, freshly blended choc explosion topped with irresistible whipped cream and indulgent Choc Drizzle. Made in under 60 seconds.
Yup only 2940 kilojoules, I have no idea what that is in calories but it sure sounds like we're pigging out.
Well when you divide it by 2, since we share, that's only 2000 for me and 1000 for L. Darwin math!

2nd time is FREE
We went to Crocosaurus Cove here in Darwin a couple of weeks ago. One of the benefits of living in the NT is that once you have paid to visit Crocosaurus Cove you can go back free for a whole year. Last weekend after it had finished raining I said to L lets go down-town shopping and see the crocs as well. As it turns out there was only about 10 customers. So here are some pictures.
L got to hold this cutie. The guy in the back got him later, for him he got pooped on. Maybe it's good luck.
I'm not sure what this guy is thinking.
This is zoom and glass between him and my nose.
This guy is with his girlfriend, he's the biggie and she's small. She makes a nest every year. They put the "CAGE OF DEATH" in with these two. They didn't even flinch, I think the big one opened one eye. The guys in the cage, more like plastic cage, where banging and splashing. I think the noise put them to sleep.
Here are some Croc fishing vids

Houston we have Internet
Yes we finally have internet. Well we did have internet before but we had to go through the cell phone network which limits the amount of stuff you can download, no YouTube, and it was expensive and SLOW. The problem is, everyone wanted a 2 year contract and I don't want to commit to two years because I'd have to pay a penalty to get out of it. Well the big monopolies do.
I eventually found a company that gives you unlimited internet for $60, but I had to get a phone for $30 a month. Home phones here are not like in Canada. Every phone call you make here costs you. So that's $30+ phone calls, why would we do that when we have cell phones and the rates aren't much better. But even though I have a phone and interenet it works out cheaper because to get a 1 year contract internet thru Telstra, a big company, it was $99 a month. At least with this arrangment I can cancel at any time. But after I go on this Club Telco's web site I find out that they offer better cell phone internet. They resell the services of the same company as I was using for a $5 bucks more but 3 times the amount of internet usage. ($50=6.9gig or $55=15gig) Bummer!
With this new internet I will now be able to upload our videos on to YouTube and watch YouTube videos. Now I wish I had a treadmill.
Everyone you can now skype me, I'll try to leave it running all the time if I can.
The only thing left to get is a smartphone. Right now we both have pretty dumb phones. As usual we don't want to lock into a contract for 2 years so there are unlocked phones that are $300+. Woolworths, a food store, has a pretty good deal on pay as you go rates which actually uses the network of the cell phone company we currently use. With an unlocked phone hopefully we can use it and pick up some pay as you go when we travel to other countries.
We are getting so modern here in Darwin. I'd say we're probably up to about 2005, well L and I are still in the past, everyone around us is well ahead of us.
